“Clandestine Agents of the Cuban Government” — Ayers, Dohrn, Myers (Updated 2x) June 7, 2009 by Procrustes Cuban dictator Fidel Castro “admires” newly-disclosed American spy couple, former State Department intelligence analyst, Walter Kendall Myers, 72, and his wife, Gwendolyn, 71, who have spied for Cuba for the past thirty years, for their “courageous conduct on behalf of Cuba”.
The Myers's were charged June 5 by the DoJ with “conspiracy, being agents of a foreign government and wire fraud.”
The Myres's motivation for such treason? Not money, it seems. According to an affidavit, it was Kendall Myers’s “deep and long-standing anger toward his country, an anger that allegedly made him willing to spy for Cuba for three decades.”
“I have become so bitter these past few months. Watching the evening news is a radicalizing experience,” he wrote in his diary in 1978, referring to what he described as greedy U.S. oil companies, inadequate health care and “the utter complacency of the oppressed” in America. On a trip to Cuba, federal law enforcement officials said in legal filings, Myers found a new inspiration: the communist revolution.
Sound familiar? Well, hold on. There’s always more to the story.
Bill Warner, a private investigator from Sarasota, Florida, writes June 6 on his W.B.I. Inc. blog that Kendall Myers worked for the same Cuban intelligence service in New York City — the Cuban Mission to the U.N. — as did unrepentant “free as a bird” Communist terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.
RBO’s Ayers-Dohrn Resource List includes a lengthy article posted last October on Weatherman Dohrn in which we discuss in more detail Dohrn’s dual role as an antiwar organizer and agitator on college campuses — Columbia in NYC and Kent State in Ohio, for example — on behalf of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) beginning in 1967, at the same time she was touring the same college campuses setting up legal defense ops on behalf of the Communist-connected National Lawyers Guild. Dohrn also performed the same function for both organizations in Chicago prior to the 1968 Democratic Convention riots.
In a November 1996 book review John Mage wrote:"Many of us at Boulder had been brought into the Guild by Bernardine and none would dispute Victor [Rabinowitz]’s characterization of her as “brilliant” and with “inexhaustible energy.” As he says, “in her travels around the country she spent half her time organizing antiwar demonstrations and the other half organizing Guild chapters to defend the demonstrators.”
As we (RBO) wrote, it was Dohrn’s future husband, Bill Ayers, Mark Rudd and Jeff Jones who, in 1969, came out of the SDS convention as the leaders of its more violent spawn, Weather, later to be known as the Weather Underground after it ceased to operate in the sunshine.
However, as RBO pointed out, it was Dohrn who was consistently referred to by the group as Weather’s leader. Last fall, unreported by MSM, was the September 2008 visit to Cuba by Ayers and Dohrn. This was hardly their first time to visit the tropical paradise.
